Measured Review 2026: Online GLP-1 Weight Loss, Checked Against the Evidence

Measured is a US telehealth clinic that prescribes Wegovy, the Wegovy pill and Zepbound after an online assessment, and sells cheaper compounded versions. The branded drugs have strong trials. The real monthly cost is membership plus medicine, it serves 26 states, and there are no refunds.

By Sift Nutrition Editorial TeamHow we review

Pros

  • ✓Prescribes the FDA-approved weight-loss drugs with the strongest trials: Wegovy injections, the Wegovy pill and Zepbound
  • ✓Helps with insurance prior authorisation for branded drugs, and sends insured prescriptions to your own pharmacy
  • ✓Offers a 60-minute session with a registered dietitian, which it says insurance often covers
  • ✓Membership can be cancelled at any time, and the medicine price is shown as a range before you start
  • ✓Its site states plainly that compounded drugs are not reviewed or approved by the FDA

Cons

  • ✕Available in 26 US states only. It does not serve the UK or the other 24 states
  • ✕Branded drugs are paid on top of the membership, so the real monthly cost is the membership plus $149 to $449 for the medicine without insurance
  • ✕No refunds once a billing period has started, including for side effects or lack of results
  • ✕The consultation is by questionnaire and messaging; a video visit is not required and labs are not routine
  • ✕It also sells compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide, a 'GLP-1 microdose' plan, NAD+, sermorelin and oxytocin spray. None of these has trial evidence for the way it is sold here
  • ✕The home page carries before-and-after photos and a '4.9' rating, which say nothing about how most patients do

Measured is an online weight-loss clinic in the US. You take a short quiz and a medical assessment, a licensed physician or nurse practitioner reviews it, and if it suits you they prescribe a GLP-1 drug: Wegovy injections, the daily Wegovy pill, Zepbound, or a cheaper compounded version. Unlike most products we review, the main things Measured sells have strong evidence. Semaglutide and tirzepatide produced 14% to 21% average weight loss in large placebo-controlled trials. The service itself adds insurance paperwork, a dietitian and messaging, not a better drug. The trade-offs: the monthly price is the membership plus the medicine, there are no refunds, it covers 26 states, and it also sells compounded and 'microdose' options that lack the same evidence.

GLP-1 drugs are prescription medicines with known side effects, mostly nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation, plus rare risks such as pancreatitis and gallbladder disease. Do not use them if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, or if you are pregnant or trying to conceive. Tell the prescriber about any eating disorder, pancreatitis or diabetes medicines. Severe stomach pain that does not settle needs urgent care. Nothing on this page is medical advice.

What the service is and what it prescribes

Measured is run by Better Health Labs, Inc. in New York, and the medical care comes from affiliated practices that are independently owned by licensed physicians. It treats obesity and excess weight. The core options are the three FDA-approved weight-loss drugs below, plus compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide for cash-pay patients. It also lists Ozempic and Mounjaro for people whose insurance covers them, a low-dose 'GLP-1 microdose' plan sold for 'longevity', and injections or sprays such as NAD+, sermorelin, glutathione, B12 with MIC, and oxytocin.

OptionEvidence gradeWhat the trials showThe catch
Wegovy (semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly injection)STRONGEST14.9% weight loss over 68 weeks vs 2.4% on placebo in 1,961 adults (PMID 33567185). In 17,604 people with heart disease, 20% fewer heart attacks, strokes or cardiovascular deaths (PMID 37952131)Stomach side effects are common; most weight returns after stopping. $99/mo membership plus $199 to $349/mo cash for the drug
Zepbound (tirzepatide weekly injection)STRONGESTUp to 20.9% weight loss over 72 weeks vs 3.1% on placebo (PMID 35658024). Beat semaglutide head to head, 20.2% vs 13.7% (PMID 40353578)Most expensive option: $99/mo membership plus $299 to $449/mo cash for the drug
Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide 25 mg daily)STRONGEST13.6% weight loss over 64 weeks vs 2.2% on placebo in 307 adults (PMID 40934115)One large trial so far; stomach side effects in 74%. $49/mo membership plus $149 to $299/mo for the drug
Compounded semaglutide or tirzepatideLIMITEDNo trials of compounded products. They contain the same active drugs, but the FDA does not check their quality or doseNot FDA-approved. FDA reports of hospitalisations from dosing errors (PMID 37392810). Cheapest: from $119/mo or $219/mo, all in

Measured's main weight-loss options graded against the published research. Grades apply to the drug, not to Measured; we found no trial of the service itself.

How the online consultation works

  1. Take the 2 to 3 minute quiz on your health history, lifestyle and goals.
  2. Complete a longer medical assessment. Measured says labs are not routinely required, but your provider may ask for them.
  3. A licensed US physician or nurse practitioner reviews it, usually within 1 to 3 days per Measured's pages, and prescribes if appropriate. Video is not required; care happens through secure messaging.
  4. For insured branded drugs, Measured submits the prior authorisation and sends the prescription to your pharmacy. Cash-pay, compounded and oral medicines ship to your home free.
  5. You get monthly check-ins to adjust the dose, unlimited messaging with the care team, and can book a 60-minute session with a registered dietitian.

An asynchronous consult can be enough to prescribe these drugs safely, as long as the questions cover thyroid cancer history, pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, pregnancy, eating disorders and diabetes medicines. It is not a physical examination. If you have several health conditions or take many medicines, a doctor who knows you is the safer route.

Monthly prices shown on trymeasured.com. For branded drugs, the membership and the medicine are paid separately. Medicine prices are Measured's stated cash-pay ranges; insured patients pay the membership plus any copay.
  • Measured's pages show a $129 figure beside the membership price, and the pill page, the injection pages and the help centre quote different starting prices. Confirm the figure at checkout.
  • Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly sell their drugs directly to self-paying US patients. If you only need a prescription, compare those prices and your own doctor before paying a monthly membership on top.
  • Because refunds are not given once a billing period starts, including for side effects, do not prepay a long plan before you know you tolerate the drug.

What the marketing overclaims

  • 'Lose up to 25% of body weight' on Zepbound and 'up to 20%' on Wegovy. The trial averages were about 21% on the top Zepbound dose and 15% on Wegovy (PMID 35658024; PMID 33567185). 'Up to' describes the better responders, not the typical result.
  • Before-and-after photos and a '4.9' rating on the home page. These are selected stories; they tell you nothing about how the average member does.
  • Compounded options are presented next to the branded drugs as 'more affordable alternatives'. Measured's small print says compounded medicines are not reviewed or approved by the FDA. The trial results above do not transfer to them automatically.
  • The 'longevity' range (GLP-1 microdosing, NAD+, sermorelin, glutathione, oxytocin spray) is sold with claims about energy, focus, sleep and inflammation. We found no trials supporting these uses.

Side effects to understand before you start

  • Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and constipation are the most common side effects, mostly while the dose is rising. In STEP 1, 4.5% stopped semaglutide because of them vs 0.8% on placebo (PMID 33567185). With the Wegovy pill, 74% had a stomach side effect vs 42% on placebo (PMID 40934115).
  • In SELECT, 16.6% of people stopped semaglutide because of side effects over about three years, twice the placebo rate (PMID 37952131).
  • Boxed warning: both drugs caused thyroid C-cell tumours in rodents. Not for anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2 (FDA labels).
  • Pancreatitis and gallbladder disease have occurred. Low blood sugar is a risk with insulin or sulfonylureas. Not for use in pregnancy (FDA labels).
  • If you stop, expect most of the weight to return. People who stopped semaglutide regained about two-thirds of their loss within a year (PMID 35441470).

Who should use their own doctor instead

  • Anyone outside Measured's 26 states, or outside the US.
  • Anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN 2, or who is pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive.
  • Anyone with a past or current eating disorder, previous pancreatitis, gallbladder disease or serious kidney disease.
  • Anyone with type 2 diabetes on insulin or a sulfonylurea, whose doses will need adjusting by someone who manages their diabetes.
  • Anyone with many conditions or medicines who would be better served by an in-person review.
  • Anyone whose BMI is under 27, or under 30 without a weight-related condition. The drugs are not approved for that.
  • Anyone whose insurance will cover the drug through their own doctor, who may not need a paid membership at all.

In the UK

Measured is not available in the UK; it operates only in 26 US states. The same drugs are sold here as Wegovy and Mounjaro. The NHS offers them to people who meet its criteria, but access is limited, so many people pay privately through a pharmacy with a UK-registered prescriber. The same rules apply: a proper screening for thyroid cancer history, pancreatitis, pregnancy and eating disorders, and a plan for long-term use.

Verdict

Measured prescribes the right drugs. Wegovy, the Wegovy pill and Zepbound have large, long trials behind them, and Measured adds insurance help, dose check-ins and a dietitian. What you pay for is convenience and support, and it is not cheap: for branded drugs the monthly bill is the membership plus the medicine, and there are no refunds. It suits an adult in one of its 26 states with a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with a weight-related condition, who wants an FDA-approved drug and plans to stay on it. Stick to the branded drugs if you can afford them or your insurance covers them, be cautious with compounded versions, and skip the 'longevity' add-ons. If you have a complicated medical history, or your own doctor will prescribe, go that way instead. Our guide to GLP-1 drugs vs weight-loss supplements covers the trial evidence in more detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Measured work?

The branded drugs it prescribes do. In large trials, weekly semaglutide (Wegovy) led to 14.9% weight loss over 68 weeks against 2.4% on placebo (PMID 33567185), and tirzepatide (Zepbound) up to 20.9% over 72 weeks against 3.1% (PMID 35658024). Measured has no trials of its own service. The drug does the work; Measured provides the prescription, insurance paperwork and follow-up.

How much does Measured cost?

On trymeasured.com on 29 Sept 2026, membership started at $49 a month for the Wegovy pill and $99 a month for Wegovy or Zepbound injections. The medicine is extra: Measured lists $149 to $299 a month for the Wegovy pill, $199 to $349 for Wegovy and $299 to $449 for Zepbound when paying cash. Compounded semaglutide started at $119 a month and compounded tirzepatide at $219, medicine included. With insurance cover, you pay the membership plus any copay.

Does Measured take insurance?

For the medicine, sometimes. Measured says it helps patients with plans such as Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare get GLP-1 drugs covered, and handles prior authorisation. The membership fee is not covered by insurance. Many plans still do not cover weight-loss drugs, so check your plan before counting on it.

Can I get a refund from Measured?

Generally not. Measured's help centre says fees for services already given are non-refundable, refunds cannot be issued once a billing period has started, and refunds are not given for side effects, intolerance or lack of results. Prescription medicines cannot be returned. You can cancel at any time, and the membership runs to the end of the billing cycle.

Is compounded semaglutide from Measured the same as Wegovy?

No. Measured's own pages say compounded medicines are not reviewed or approved by the FDA for safety or effectiveness. The FDA has received reports of hospitalisations linked to dosing errors with compounded semaglutide, and a poison-centre case series described 10-fold overdoses from measuring doses out of vials (PMID 37392810). The large trials were done with the branded drugs.

Is Measured available in the UK?

No. Measured operates in 26 US states. In the UK, Wegovy and Mounjaro (the UK name for tirzepatide) are available on the NHS to people who meet its criteria, with limited access, or privately through pharmacies with UK-registered prescribers.
