Java Burn Review 2026: What the Evidence Actually Says
Java Burn is now coffee drops with green tea, green coffee, L-carnitine and L-theanine in an undisclosed 550 mg blend. Those ingredients have shown about 1 to 2 kg of extra weight loss in trials, at doses the blend is unlikely to reach.

Pros
- ✓The label prints a full Supplement Facts panel, including the vitamin and chromium amounts and the total size of the blend
- ✓Green tea catechins, green coffee extract and L-carnitine have each shown small weight effects of about 1 to 2.5 kg in meta-analyses of randomised trials
- ✓Zero calories per serving and a one-time payment, not a subscription, per the order page
- ✓A 60-day money-back guarantee, and ClickBank handles refunds for orders placed through its checkout
Cons
- ✕The four ingredients with weight-loss claims sit in one 550 mg proprietary blend, so you cannot tell how much of each you get
- ✕The whole blend is about a quarter of the 2,000 mg a day of L-carnitine that a dose-response meta-analysis linked to the largest effect
- ✕The finished product has no published trial of its own
- ✕In a Cochrane review, green tea preparations outside Japan made almost no difference to weight: 0.04 kg against placebo
- ✕A widely cited 2012 green coffee trial, which reported 8 kg of weight loss in 16 people, was retracted in 2014
- ✕The cheapest option on the page is $158 for two bottles
Java Burn is a liquid you add to your morning coffee: one 1 ml dropper a day. The label lists a 550 mg blend of green tea leaf extract, green coffee bean extract, L-carnitine and L-theanine, plus small amounts of vitamin D, B6, B12 and chromium. It does not say how much of each blend ingredient you get, and we found no published trial of Java Burn itself. The ingredients have shown about 1 to 2 kg of extra weight loss in the better trials, usually at doses larger than this blend can hold. It is a coffee add-in with a small expected effect, not a weight-loss treatment.
What Java Burn is now
Java Burn started as powder sachets. The ClickBank link now opens a sales page for liquid drops in 30 ml bottles, 30 servings each, and the order page lists 'Java Burn - 6 Bottle'. The older powder is still sold on javaburn.com. This review covers the drops, since that is what the order page sells. The distributor named on the label is Adonis Lifestyle LLC of Aurora, Colorado.
Our source for the label is the Supplement Facts panel as photographed in a September 2026 third-party review; the vendor's own pages name the ingredients but give no amounts. Some reviews online quote per-ingredient doses that add up to more than the 550 mg the label states, so we have not used them.
The formula, graded against the published research
| Ingredient | Evidence grade | What the trials show | Java Burn's dose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green tea catechins | WEAK | 1.31 kg more than control across 11 studies of catechins or EGCG with caffeine (PMID 19597519). The effect looked smaller in people who already had over 300 mg of caffeine a day, 0.27 kg against 1.60 kg, though that difference was not statistically significant. The Cochrane review found 0.04 kg in trials outside Japan (PMID 23235664) | Not disclosed, inside the 550 mg blend |
| Green coffee bean extract (chlorogenic acid) | WEAK | 2.47 kg in a meta-analysis of 3 small trials, all at high risk of bias (PMID 20871849). A 2023 meta-analysis of 3 trials with 103 people found 1.30 kg at 500 mg a day or more (PMID 37710316). A widely cited 2012 trial that reported 8 kg in 16 people was retracted in 2014 (PMID 22291473) | Not disclosed, inside the 550 mg blend |
| L-carnitine | LIMITED | 1.21 kg across 37 trials, with the largest effect at about 2,000 mg a day (PMID 32359762). A second meta-analysis of 43 trials found 1.13 kg, mainly in people with overweight or obesity (PMID 31743774) | Not disclosed. The whole blend is about a quarter of 2,000 mg |
| Chromium picolinate | WEAK | 0.50 kg across 11 trials, with uncertain clinical relevance (PMID 23495911) | 20 mcg |
| L-theanine | NONE FOUND | We found no human trials of L-theanine for weight loss. It is studied for calm and focus | Not disclosed, inside the 550 mg blend |
| Vitamins D, B6 and B12 | NONE FOUND | Nutrients, not weight-loss agents. Worth taking only if you are short of them | 20 mcg, 1 mg and 5 mcg |
The dose is the main problem. The largest L-carnitine effect in a dose-response meta-analysis came at about 2,000 mg a day, nearly four times the whole blend. The blend could hold the 500 mg a day of green coffee extract linked to the 1.30 kg result only if the other three ingredients shared the last 50 mg. And coffee drinkers may get less from green tea catechins than the headline figure: in the meta-analysis, the effect looked smaller in people already having over 300 mg of caffeine a day.
Does Java Burn work?
It may add a little to weight loss you are already achieving through diet, but the evidence points to a kilogram or so at best. Nothing about the formula suggests a bigger effect than its ingredients have shown on their own, and the undisclosed amounts make even that uncertain. The strongest-sounding green coffee result, 8 kg in 16 people, came from a 2012 trial that was retracted in 2014.
For scale, a 100 kg person lost about 15 kg on semaglutide in the STEP 1 trial and about 21 kg on the top dose of tirzepatide in SURMOUNT-1 (PMID 33567185, PMID 35658024). Our guide to GLP-1 drugs vs weight-loss supplements puts the two side by side.
What the marketing gets right and wrong
- Right: the ingredients are real and each has some trial data. Green tea, green coffee and L-carnitine have all shown small effects in meta-analyses.
- Wrong: the pitch implies a meaningful metabolic change from a morning dropper. The trials show changes of one or two kilograms, usually at larger doses than the blend can contain.
- Missing: the amount of each blend ingredient. Without it you cannot compare Java Burn with the doses used in trials.
- Missing: any published trial of Java Burn itself.
Price, guarantee and how to buy
On the page the affiliate link opens (checked 30 September 2026): 2 bottles for $158 plus shipping, 3 for $207 plus shipping, 6 for $294 with free US shipping, which works out at $79, $69 or $49 a bottle. There was no single-bottle option. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription. The guarantee is 60 days, less shipping and handling, and ClickBank handles refunds for orders placed through its checkout.
Who it might suit
- A coffee drinker who wants to try a green tea and green coffee add-in and accepts that the expected effect is around a kilogram.
- Not someone with obesity or a weight-related condition looking for a treatment. GLP-1 drugs have the trial results.
- Not someone who wants to know exactly what they are taking. The blend amounts are not disclosed.
The verdict
Java Burn is an easy habit to add, and its ingredients are not dangerous for most healthy adults. But the trial evidence behind them is small, the doses are hidden, and the expected result is a kilogram or two at best. Buy it as a coffee add-in if you like the idea, with the 60-day guarantee as your safety net. Do not buy it expecting what the weight-loss drugs deliver.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Java Burn work for weight loss?
Its main ingredients, green tea catechins, green coffee extract and L-carnitine, have shown about 1 to 2 kg of extra weight loss in meta-analyses of trials, usually at doses bigger than Java Burn's 550 mg blend can hold. We found no published trial of Java Burn itself. Expect a small effect at most.
What is in Java Burn?
Per 1 ml serving: a 550 mg proprietary blend of green tea leaf extract, green coffee bean extract, L-carnitine and L-theanine, plus vitamin D3 20 mcg, vitamin B6 1 mg, vitamin B12 5 mcg and chromium 20 mcg. Other ingredients are water, flavour, stevia extract, xanthan gum and citric acid. The label does not give the amount of each blend ingredient.
Is Java Burn a powder or drops?
It is now sold as liquid drops through the ClickBank link: one 1 ml dropper a day in coffee. The older powder sachets are still sold on javaburn.com.
Can Java Burn replace a GLP-1 drug like Wegovy or Zepbound?
No. In their main trials, semaglutide and tirzepatide led to around 15% and 21% weight loss. Java Burn's ingredients have shown about 1 to 2 kg. If you have obesity, speak to your doctor about treatments with real trial results.
Are there side effects?
Most people will not notice much beyond the coffee itself. Green tea extract has been linked to rare liver injury at high doses, green coffee and your coffee both add caffeine, and chromium can affect blood sugar. Check with a pharmacist if you take diabetes medicine or other regular medicines.
What is the refund policy?
60 days, less shipping and handling, per the vendor's order page. ClickBank processes refunds for orders placed through its checkout.
